A very pretty wedding was celebrated last evening at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. X. M. Slnw in this village, the contracting parties being Miss Maggie, second daughter of Mr. Shaw, and Mr. Oeorge Colcutt, also of Pinehurst. The impressive ceremony was performed by Daniel Blue, justice of the peace, and the rooms were tastily decorated with flowers and evergreens. The bride was prettily gowned in white lawn, trimmed with white lace and helio trope ribbon. After the marriage cere mony, which was witnessed by the relatives and friends of both families, a reception was held by the h:ippy couple, followed by a wedding supper, to which all present did ample justice. The table was ornamented with four handsome loaves of bride's cake. After supper d.incing was indulged in until a, late hour. SOUTHERN PINES. Every train brings new arrivals at The Ozone. C. S. Stanley has three houses in pro cess of erection. 1. J. Norton of Granville, N. V., has rented the Bards house and will move here soon. Mr. and Mrs. II. M. Couch of the Ozone hotel spent a day at the State fair at ltaleigh last week. Samuel Stringer's building is being raised and the plans call for one of the finest blocks in town. J. F. Saunders"1 house is well under way and he has gone to Xew Hampshire to bring his family here. E. 1). Poss of l'ochester, X. II., who will occupy the barber shop in Stringer's new block, has arrived and will open temporarily in Tarbell's block uutil his shop is finished. George W. Tilghman has bought ten acres of orchard and vineyard of Charles Voting and twenty acres of uncleared land of. J. T. Wilson & Co. He will build two houses on the hill. ABERDEEN. Miss Jessie Page is at Biscoe on a visit. J. A. McKeithen and family have tem porarily removed to his mill, a short dis tance out of town. Mrs. Holleman, mother of Mrs. W. I. Grillin, died last Tuesday from the effects of a stroke of paralysis. Interment in Wake county. A. F. Page, who has suffered so much from stomach trouble, is now in a Balti more hospital for treatment. His neigh bors and friends wish him a speedy recovery. CARTHAGE. Pails have been laid on the Carthage railroad extension to a point two miles beyond McLendons creek. Mrs. T. B. Tyson, Sr., died last Sun day night, aged 74 years. The funeral took place Monday afternoon at the Presbyterian church, and a large crowd assembled to pay the last tribute of respect. 50 cents pays for the Outlook C nios.
