The Washington and Southwestern Limited, leaving New York by Penn. R. R. at 4.25 p. m., Phila delphia (i.55 p. in., Iialtiniore 9.16 p. m., and Washington over Southern Railway at 10.45 p. m. connects at High Point, N. C, at 8.10 a. m. with a special train for Pinehurst which is reached (except Sundays) at 11.3(5 o'clock the following morning, eighteen and one-half hours from New i ork. are for round trip from New Y'ork, S20.5U. Proportionate fares for round trip from Phila delphia, Iialtiniore and Washington. After January 1st, a Special Pullman car will leave New l oricjor j'lnenurst wttnout change. A midnight train leaving New York (Pennsylvania railroad) at 12.15 a. m., reaches Southern Pines at 'J.4'J the lollowing night. A train leaving New York at 1 p. m. by Pennsylvania railroad, reaches Southern Pines at 5.57 a m. the following morning. The Old Dominion Line of steamers from New Y'ork, the Bay Line and the Chesapeake Line steamers from Iialtiniore, the Norfolk and Washington steamers from Washington, and steamers on the Cape Charles route, all stop at Portsmouth, Va., and connect with Seaboard Air Line trains lor Southern Pines. The fare for round trip from New Y'ork City to Southern Pines, via Pennsylvania railroad and Cape Charles route is $23.50, and on any other of these routes is $20.50 and are limited from Nov. 1st to May 31st. Single fare f 10.05. Round trip tickets from Boston by Fall River Line are $33, in cluding transler with baggage in ew lork city. Train from Boston for Washington (without change) leaves Boston at 9.00 a. m. and connects with the Southern Railway at Washington for High Point and Pinehurst, twenty-six hours from Boston. Train from Boston for Washington (without change) leaves Boston at 7 i) m arrives at Washington at 10.32 a. m., leaves Washington at 10.35 a. m., and reaches Southern Pines over Seaboard Air Line at 9.42 p. m. The line steamers of the Merchants & Miners Company leave Battery wharf, Boston, at 2 o'clock on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, connecting at Portsmouth, Va., with the Sea board Air Line railroad. By this route a passenger leaving Boston, say on Thursday, would reach Southern Pines Saturday at 6.12 p. m., having forty hours at sea.
