Here are some of the jewels from it :
"Pinehurst possesses all the essentials
of a perfect moderate winter climate.
The days are almost continuously of
brightest sunshine; there being last sea
son, but rive days when storms prevented
out-of-door exercises and sports.
Within a very few days the bright
sunshine, the bracing air and a growing
familiarity with the not unhandsome
pines, brings a feeling of rest and con
tentment difficult to account for. It
grows on one and is nothing after all,
but the effects of the exhilirating cli
mate. Many people now here, have for

The Herkshire.
Mr. D. N. Clark gave a package party
in honor of Mr. II. M. Pratt of Yonkers,

amusement. Everyone attending con
tributed a mysterious package, and these
were hung upon a clothes line extending
across the parlor. The participants
were blindfolded one by one, and per
mitted to clip these packages from the
line with a pair of shears. Some very
amusing results ensued, and there were
numerous surprises.
Mr. Pratt left for home during the
week after a delightful stay here of over
a month.
