The eight event in the winter'a stated program of trap shooting fixtures, a fifty single target championship event, for the splendid Frank Presbrey trophy, was shot Wednesday morning. A head wind lowered the percentages consider ably, but the contest was close and hard fought from first until last. Arthur C. Ketcham, of New York city, the winner of last week's trophy, was for the second time victorious, with a score of thirty-six. C. A. Lockwood, of New York city, the winner of a recent event, was a close second with thirty- are over. Already a number of special events have been planned to fill in Wed nesday mornings for the balance- of the season. Next Wednesday's shoot will be exceptionally interesting. A number of birds are to be thrown from the new tower which has been erected, and taking the trials at this sort of shooting which were made after Wednesday's shoot as a standard, an exceptionally interesting and unique contest is assured. The Pinehurst Department Store trophy will be offered as a prize, owing to the fact that there were no contestants in Class H. Wednesday, all preferring to shoot in Class A, OueMtM of XI rn. Hull.
