The weekly euchre party at The Har vard proved most enjoyable. Miss Lucy II. Fosdick of Concord, Mass., won the first prize for women and Miss Van Mater of Atlantic Highlands, N. J., the consolation. The "mens" prize was won by Miss Kate G. Ilea of Danville, Pa., and Mrs. Eaton took the consolation. AMONG THE GUESTS. Rev. Fr. G. B. Harrington of Wash ington, D. C, is welcomed back for a return visit, and an extended stay. ''Father Harrington" as he is called, is a general favorite. Mr. 1. 1, Broome, Mrs. J. J. Broome and Miss McClellan of East Orange, N. Transformation Scene Has Taken Place In Office of The Ilerklilre. A tranformation scene has taken place at The Berkshire since the house closed last year and with important changes this popular home is sure to be more comfortable than ever before. The most striking improvement is in the office which has been greatly en larged and improved by making it in clude the small parlor at the left, the introduction of new counters and the like. The mens' smoking room has been made more comfortable by the introduc tion of a long writing desk, painting, papering and rearrangement have been general throughout the house, and Mr. and Mrs. Sherrard have added many effective little touches here and there. Series formally Opened. With One Hundred Ming-Ie Turret Event. The winter's series of trap shooting tournaments was formally opened Thurs day afternoon with a hundred single target scratch event and an interesting contest developed. Herbert L. Jillson of Worcester, Mass., won first with sixty-four with Arthur C. Ketcham of New York, a close second in sixty. The event was shot from scratch and a number of the Villagers witnessed the shooting. Next weeks shoot is fifty singles and ten doubles, Magautrap. days are Mrs. E. G. Hutchinson of Lan caster, Pa., and Miss Mary Lovett of Philadelphia, who come for an indefinite sojourn. Mr. and Mrs. G. L. Hawkins of New York, are here to remain several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Pobert Watchorn and child of Montreal, Canada, spent a few days here previous to securing apart ments at The Cedars. Professional Jolly a Visitor. Jack Jolly, the well-known golf pro fessional, was a visitor during the week and during his stay played a number of interesting matches with Professionals Donald J. and Alec Koss.
