The Pinehurst Target-Pistol Club is
holding its first shoot, a handicap event
with cups for the best gross and best net
scores, as the paper goes to press, and
considerable interest centres about the
event.
Very attractive posters announcing the
event are posted at various points about
the Village. They are the work of Mr.
John P. Benson, a well-known New
York architect, and a brother of Frank
W. Benson, the Boston painter. Mr.
Benson and his wife are the guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Harry B. Benson at The
Carolina.
PISTOL CLUB ORGANIZES!

No. 9 No score shall count unless
certified by some member of the Execu
tive Committee.
No. 10 Shoots shall be held at such
time and hour as the Executive Commit
tee shall designate, and under conditions
arranged by it. It is the purpose of the
Club to hold tournaments once a week
throughout the season. Suitable prizes
will be offered for these events.
No. 11 A special fee of fifty cents,
to be used in the purchase of suitable
prizes, shall be required from each par
ticipant in stated fixtures.
No. 12 All disputes shall be referred
to the Executive Committee and its
decision shall be final.

Guests of The Berkshire Enjoy Pack
age Party and Cards.
A Package Party in which a company
of forty people, including many of the
Villagers, participated, furnished a pleas
ant evening at The Berkshire last week.
The Friday evening euchre party was
well attended. Mrs. A. V. Secor of
Brooklyn, won the first "mens" prize,
and Mr. Robert llussell of Brooklyn, the
second. Mrs. M. J. Matson of Boston,
and Mrs. F. W. Carlin of Brooklyn, were
the winners of the vvomens prizes.
The weekly card parties will be held
Tuesday evening in future. The change
was inaugurated this week with a hearts
party. Mrs. C. P. Welles of Towanda,
la., and Miss McClellan of East Orange,
N". J., were the winners of the "mens"
prizes, and Mrs. E. G. Hutchinson of
Lancaster, Pa., and Miss Alice Taggart
of New York, the womens.

Mr. 11. C. Lincoln of Hartford, Conn.,
is here for an indefinite sojourn.
Mr. and Mrs, Edward A. Church and
Miss Anna Church of Boston, have gone
after a week's visit.
Miss Ella Upson of Bristol, Conn., is
here for an entended stay.
Miss. E. L. Swan and Miss Swan of
Moline, 111., registered Thursday.
Mr, C. P. Hey wood of Brooklyn, and
Mrs. L.E. Heywood.of Freeport, L. I.,
come for a return visit and the winter.
Mr. and Mrs. F. P. Marsh of New
York, are here for their third season.
Saturday Evening- Hops Enjoyable.
The regular Saturday evening hop at
The Carolina was well attended, and
proved most enjoyable. The company
included many guests of the Village.
These dances will be held regularly
and a general invitation is extended.
