Explained at Iast.
She wore an ostrich feather
And somehow to my eyes,
Although I am no critic,
It didn't harmonize;
It seemed to stand out lonely,
A vain addition patched,
For I could not discover
What thing it was it matched.
But after the theatre
We went to get a lunch,
And when I had considered
The quite expensive bunch
Of viands she had ordered
The thing was simple, quite;
She wore the ostrich feather
To match her appetite !

Seaboard Air line JPrint Something
Unique in "A II ride and a Jlridle."
One of the daintiest advertising book
lets, if it may so be called, that has ever
come to our notice is, "A Bride and a
Bridle," published by the Seaboard Air
Line Railway.
Not a line may strictly be called 4 'ad
vertising" appears in the publication,
which is nothing more or less than an
interesting short story, well illustrated,
finely printed upon deckle edge paper,
and bound with soft gray boards, bear
ing a cover design in white.
To be sure the Seaboard Air Line is
mentioned several times throughout the
booklet, but this fact does not mar in the
least the pleasure which one finds in
reading the story which it contains.

SILHOUETTES AT THE XlVOAT
CrueMtM Spend a Merry Evening- Figuring-
Out the Identity of Each.
A "Silhouette Party" provided a
merry evening at The Lenox Friday,
and many guests from outside joined
with the company in the enjoyment of
the occasion.
The early hours were spent in making
the silhouettes, the Misses Josselyn of
Lawrence, Mas., assisted by Mrs. J,
Milton Robinson, performing this por
tion of the work with much secrecy.
When all had been "silhouetted" the
pictures were hung upon a large white
curtain in the dining room and the com
pany was allowed to guess the identity
of each.
Miss M, E. Chrysler of Williamsport,
Pa. ; Miss Elizabeth Macfarlane of Troy
Hills, N. J. ; Miss Morris of Bridgeport,
Conn.; Mrs. II. S. Eldredge of Milford,
Mass., and Miss May E. Freeman of
Bridgeport, Conn., tied for the prize
offered with thirty-seven correct guesses,
Miss Chrysler winning on the cut.
Manager Robinson still finds it pos
sible to provide accommodations only
when changes are brought about by departures.
Pouter fiend Will Want Them.
