In every heart arise, O risen Christ; in every life appear, In condescending love By holy fellowship and grace endear. In purpose and desire Help us to walk with thee, thy thoughts to think, Thy deep compassion share, Be of thy mind, of thy calm spirit drink. Then shall we love the things That thou dost love; to thee Our Father, lift An hourly prayer for light And in the darkest cloud behold a rift. Our thoughts will then concern The things of life with future things in view, And we shall seek to weigh All forces and events in balance true. Such fellowship divine Will key our thought and life to highest themes, Break charm and force of sin, And of thy coming kingdom give foregleams. Then "fear of death" will die, And when shall end all mortal joy and strife Thou, risen Christ, our hope Shall be our Resurrection and our Life. C. B. BOTSFORD. Pinehurst, April 7th. Dreamt. O ! blessed dreams that take me back To my happy childhood days, To father, mother, brother and home, And innocent joyous plays. To field and flowers, woods and brook, And each dear nook on the place, Even the apples I then loved best In dreams once more I taste. The dear kind friends of long ago I clasp again by the hand, While dreaming that we forevermore Are a happy unbroken band. The little girl I played with oft, I see her again, my mate And call to her as I did then "Dute come down to the gate." The gate is there still, but Dute is gone And 6trangers live over the way I awake to a world of care, A child no more, but a woman gray. I haven't much now to make me glad, The dear ones left with me are few But bye and bye when I pass on May the blessed dreams come true. II. E. T. Pinehurst, N. C, March 20, 1904. PINEHURST WATER. A pure soft water taken in large quantities is as essential to the health of the body as is pure air. The Management takes pleasure in submitting the following analysis made by the highest authority obtainable, which shows conclusively that Pinehurst Water may be taken by anyone with advantage and that owing to its freedom from iron and lime salts, it is especially valuable to anyone suffering from rheu matic or gouty tendencies. The chemical analysis of the water is as follows: Free Ammonia .0254 Albuminoid Ammonia .0016 Nitrogen as Nitrates .1400 Nitrogen as Nitrites Absent Chlorine .38 Fixed residue 1.40 Volatile residue 0.80 Total residue 2.20 Hardness 0.33 The following is a letter from Dr. Charles Harrington of the Laboratory of Hygeine, Harvard Medical School: The water referred to contains about as little lime as any water I have ever exam ined ; in fact, all of the mineral matters together amount to 1.40 parts per 100,000 and in that respect the water is extraor dinary. Hardness is due chiefly to lime salts, out I cannot recall a water in which 1 nave observed so slight a hardness as 1-3 degree and hence so little lime, with one exception, and that was in my mind when I wrote the opening sentence a specimen of fresh rain water. As to iron, if there is any indpinehurst Water, it cannot be detecte in the amount submitted At the leading Clubs or Hotels you will find that "E. &E. Invincible" is one of their best selling cigars, It is a large generous smoke, consider ing it is the best imported tobacco that is being consumed. Packed 25 in a box.
