It is not because the change is not a beneficial one, but the old rustic struc ture with its constant threatening to plunge one into the cold water below, was like a dear friend and the experience of passing over it caused a thrill which one came to enjoy. Then again, its picturesque features cannot be forgotten, but the necessities of the case demanded a change and the new structure fills the requirements much more fully than did its well-known prede cessor, and is much appreciated by all.
