Miss Steele's high target was the best

team fared rather . badly, being handi
capped in both instances by high wind.
Both matches were shot simultaneously
on the home ranges, the scores being
wired.
The lirst of these was a match with the
Louisville team, 100 shots at ten yards,
or four targets of rive shots each for each
member of the teams, which Louisville
won G89 to 490.

The second event was with the Wash
ington team, 250 shots at 20 yards, live
targets of ten shots each for each mem
ber, in which the Washington team
snowed the local club under to the tune
of 1910 to 1473.

Mm. Lock wood Entertain.
Mrs. C. A. Lockwood, Xew York, gave
one of the largest and prettiest eucbre
parties of the season at The Carolina,
Saturday morning, for thirty guests.
There were prizes for the six higbest
scores, Mrs. W..I. Godfrey, Mrs. Seabury
Ford, Mrs. II. W. Priest, Mrs. Horace
Waters, Mrs. F. C. Goodwin, Miss Yerkes.
Tin Whistle Smoker.
The Tin Whistles held the second
smoker of the season at the Country Club
Friday evening, many members and
guests participating.
