A midseason atmosphere is already
apparent in which there will now be no
diminuation, until spring is well estab
lished. Old and new friends are return
ing and indoor social pleasures and out
door sports are combining happily and
contributing to the enjoyment of all.
Many old friends were in waiting when
the hospitable doors of The Carolina
swung back, Tuesday, several days in
advance of the formal opening date,
nearly forty registering during the first
day, all joyous at getting back to what
has come to be recognized as "home."
There is the same air of luxury and
comfort which has always been so hap
pily combined here under the able man
agement of Mr. and Mrs. Priest; the
same air of cleanliness and good taste,
which is maintained year after year
Mrs. J. G. Buckley and maid, the Masters
Buckley and Miss E. Jungbluth, New York,
come for a long sojourn.
Mr. and Mrs. Frederick L. Colver, and Mr.
Frederick B. Colver, Tenafly, N. J., and Miss
Florence Barr, Brooklyn, return for a ten days
visit.
Mr. and Mrs. George A. Perley, Ottowa, will
remain through January. Mr. Perley is an en
thusiastic golfer and President of the Royal
Canadian Golf Association.
Mr. and Mrs. James R. Turner, New York,
come for a two weeks visit.
Mr. and Mrc. Allan Lard, Washington, return
for the winter, and are entertaining Mr. J. A.
Johnston, of St. Joseph, Mo.
Mrs. Wm. V. B. Van Dyck, Wilmington, N. C,
and Mrs. Wm. S. Myers, New Brunswick, N. J.,
are completing a short visit.
Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Henderson, and Mr. and
Mrs. C. F. Tibbals, New York, are completing a
short stay.
