UESDAY'S baseball game attracted the big gest crowd of the season and it was nip and tuck for the first five innings, SLl in the last of which the Village tied the score. The first half of the six, however, was a Waterloo for The Carolina, five runs being scored, and a lead gained which it was impossible to overcome although the losers made a good try in the last inning. Eastman and "Stogie" Lynch did the twirling during the first part of the game, liillideau finishing out the game for the Village owing to an injury to Lynch and Norris carried oft the batting honors with the first home run ever made on the local diamond. The innings in which interest centered were the fifth in which the Village tied the score, and the sixth which decided the game in favor of The Carolinas. In the former inning Mike Lynch opened up for the losers with a two bagger, Madden scoring him on a hit to left. Fitzgerald cracked out his "usual one" stole second and scored on Gladu's hit who was later out at second. The sixth inning opened with a pass for Dickenson, Finnegan following with a hit and Norris' home run pushing three tallys across the plate; Eastman and Morris making the two remaining runs.
