JFOX HUNTING JLH HALEIOII.
'Iwai Sad, but Everybody JLaughcd.
"I saw a rather sad sight the other
day," remarked a hunter at The Inn, "a
negro's grave with just a single stick to
mark it."
"Oh, that's nothing," piped up a pink
cheeked, bright eyed, dark haired miss,
"I saw a whole graveyard fixed out in
the same way, and there were pretty
vines at each grave !"
And it was necessary to tell her that
what she really saw was a dewberry
patch before she knew what everybody
was laughing at.
Bullets by tlie Found!
Several energetic youngsters have been
accumilating Xmas pocket money by
digging bullet lead out of the pistol butts ;
One little fellow secured sixteen pounds
in a single afternoon, giving some idea
of the number of shots fired during a
season, for a twenty-two cartridge is
not very heavy !
Ileligion and Wine Malting.
"I don't care for Deacon Jones' wine,"
remarked a visitor at a nearby farm
house ; "he puts water in it. I want the
pure native arcticle."
"Wall, I reckon you better call on
Brother Smith," was the reply. "He's
a Presbyterian and I'm right sure he
don't put no water in his likker."
Jut Mere Existence.
"Have a drink?" queried the native
of his northern caller, "Chew Smoke ?
Nope !"
"Wall, do you-uns mind a-tellin' me
what pleasure you get out er life,
enney way ?"

WILLIE ANDERSON TELLS ABOUT HIS 6REAT RECORD-BREAKING VICTORY
WITH A
HASKELL WHITE STREAK GOLF BALL
Time and Again in this Match the Perfectly Balanced Qualities ol the " Whiti
Streak" Overcame Adverse Conditions and Flew True to' the Mart
St. Louis, Mo., Oct. 1, 1909.
The B. F. Goodrich Co., Akron, Ohio.,
Gentlemen:
It will undoubtedly please you to know that at the West
ern Open Championship held at Skokie Country Club, Sep
tember 16th and 17th, 1909, 1 won first money with the record
score of 288, an average of 4's for 72 holes. This breaks
all former records for medal play, and was made on a course
that I consider as difficult as any in the country.
I used your White Streak golf ball throughout the tourna
ment, and I can truthfully say throughout my whole experi
ence I never used a better ball. The ball flew perfectly in the
strong wind which lasted through the tournament, and on
the greens it was simply perfect. I never played my mashie
with better success in my life, and I attribute it to the pebble
marking on the Streak, which in my estimation, is far superior
to any other style of marking.
Although I hit a ball as far as the next person, I did not
have a single ball crack on me during the tournament. I
might also add that the Streak has had a big boost here at St.
Louis, due to my victory, and I have sold a large number of
balls, but as yet I have not had to replace one.
Trusting your ball will have a big run next year, I remain
Yours very truly,
(Signed) Willie Anderson.
