O NIGHT'S St. Valen tine's Cotillion at The Carolina inaugurates the more formal affairs, the first of a long series which will round out the week to come. Figures and favors appropriate to the occasion are an nounced among them, "hearts are trumps," "my sweetheart's the man in the moon", "a frog who would a'wooing go", and a cake-walk with a cake for the winning couple. The grand march starts promptly at nine. The weeks arrivals have added the hum of midseason and its life and activ ity, to the hotels, old and new friends coming, many to remain through April. While the golf tournament his occupied the center of the stage it has by no means back grounded other sports, rec reations and social pleasures. AMONG THE GUESTS. Dr. and Mrs. Henry S.
