At The Berkshire
A 14 Jumble Party" at The Berkshire
Tuesday evening, provided much amuse
inent, six different card games being
played at as many tables bridge, five
hundred, cribbage, hearts, euchre. The
guests were Mesdames Comerais, Van
Buskirk, Dickson, Ewing, Lay, Abbe,
Ingram, Dunlap ; Misses Bruce, Dunlap,
Litchfield, King, Marsh, Emma Abbe,
Molly Abbe, Dunn; Messrs. Dickson,
Holly, Lay, Pepper, Eaton, Moore, R.D.
Clark, Jr., N. Clark, Rev. Mr. Cheatham,
Drs.Mui-dock and Reeves. Mrs.Comerais,

Instruction in trap shooting is to be a
novelty of the New York Sportmen's
Show to be held in March. Du Pont ex
perts to be the teachers.

Miss Esther Tufts entertained at the
Mystic cottage Thursday from six to
eight in observance of her thirteenth
birthday, assisted by her brother, Master
Albert. A dainty supper with bonbons
and favors, was followed by games and
dancing. The guests were: Misses
Margaret Crocker, Eleanor Abbe, Mild
red and Winifred Rogers, and Masters
Jack Morse, Kendall Pierce, Creighton
Peet, Stacy Robeson and George Mc
Gregor.

Mr. Robert Chapman, Jr., of West
Newton, takes the Mistletoe for the
winter. Mr. Chapman is the proprietor
of the Gem Ventilator company.
Mr. Charles Riordon of Boston, leases
the Maple, arriving soon.
Mr. G. N. Allen of Kenwood, N. Y.,
rents the Sycamore and will corned with
his family about February 1st.

Another hotel superstition deals with
the thirteenth year of the life of a hotel
and sometime, hunt for room 13 !
As a class, however, hotel men are not
superstitious, but there is always the ex

The first of the boys' Golf tournaments

Jillson is booked for Saturday and
Monday; thirty-six holes medal play
with 2 prizes for gross and net scores.
