Victorious in singles, he also won in doubles and mixed doubles, f Cow ing's final in singles was with R. A. Burns, the Canadian survivor, and a keen match it was throughout. Winning the first, a love set, Cow ing lost the second and fourth, each 46, but won the third 62, with the crisis in the fifth which was 4 all with many deuce games before he ultimately won out G 4. In the semi-final Cowing defeated F. R. Stevens of New York G 4, 63, and Burns won by 63, 61 from R.' II. Fortune of St. Catherines. In doubles Cowing partnered with R. A. Johns ton of Baltimore, who is also a member of her home club at Chester, England, and playing against Parker W. Whitte more of Brookline and Mrs. William West of Philadelphia tied on the eighteenth hole where Whittemore's four saved the day. R, F. Robinson of Winnipeg and Mrs. R. II. Barlow of Ireland, won from Henry C. Fownes and Mrs. J. Raymond Price, both of Oakmont, and R. II. Fortune of Winnipeg and Mrs. J. V. Hurd of II unilton, Ontario, were victori ous over G. T.
