Fourteenth Annual United North and South Championship (Women) March 25 to 30 Gold medal for best qualification score, Championship, Gover nors', Secretary's and Treasurer's cups to division winners and sterling cups to runners-up in eights. Sixth Annual ' ' United ' ' Open Ama teur Professional (Four ball, best ball) March 31 Cup for amateur in leading pair, one hundred, fifty and twenty-five dollars for leading profes sional score. Sixteenth Annual ' United ' ' Open Championship April 1 Championship gold medal and one hundred dollars to winner, fifty dollars to second, and twenty-five dollars to third with special prize of twenty-five dollars for the best eighteen hole round. Sixteenth Annual "United" Ama teur Championship April 3 to 8 Gold medal for best qualification score, Cham pionship, Governors', Secretary's, Treas urer's, Captain's and Club cups to divis ion winners, sterling cups to division runners-up and consolation winners. Eighth Annual Mid-April April 11 to 15 Sterling cup for best qualification score, President's and Governors' cups to division winners, cups to first division Tunners-up and consolation winners. In view of the pleasure and satisfaction there is in the evening parties now be coming so much the fashion at the club, it might be well to consider even more dining space. There was a party there every evening last week. On Tuesday there was a party from the Drowning Creek Plantation including Mrs. Richard Derby, Miss Hope Hamil ton, Arthur Woods, Richard Harte of New York, and Miss Priscilla Beall of Uniontown, Roger Derby, Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Pearson and Henry Holt, Jr. On Wednesday the Tin Whistles over one hundred strong made merry at their annual dinner. On Thursday Mrs. J. C. Murray had covers for eight, and Friday evening the club was occupied by Mr. C. B. Hudson who entertained Mr. H. C. Fownes, C. L. Becker, M. B. Johnson, W. L. Milliken and others of the Tin Whistle faith. Saturday the council of the Sand hills held forth, as they are wont on occasion. A. JT. DeMott to Build Work will be begun immediately on a house for Mr. A. J. DeMott, who recently purchased a lot on Shaw Road not far from the residence of Mr. H. W. Priest, and directly opposite Mr. James Bar ber's lots. Mr. DeMott is the owner of the Em pire Metal Co., of Syracuse, N. Y., and with his wife spent several weeks this Winter at the Pine Crest Inn. This was their first visit to Pinehurst, and they were so favorably impressed with the climate and the village that they decided to establish a permanent Winter residence here and next season win occupy their own home. The house will be of the bungalow type with eight rooms, two baths and sun parlor, and will be built by Mr. John McCleary. Send The Outlook to your friends.
