TUB CUILDIIEA S IlOUIt little Folk Entertain TIieniaelra at the Carolina Tliurdaj Under the kindly guidance of Mrs. Frederic Claire Boustead and Miss Helen Patterson, and materially as sisted by the Carolina orchestra, the little boys and girls of the cottage col ony held high carnival in the ball room of the hotel last Thursday afternoon. It was positively the first appearance in public of a number cf very successful and entertaining performances as well as the first time that many of them ever took the role of audience. Dancing and singing were on the cards, and were indulged in with all the ferver and abandon of youth and high spirits. And a very entertaining pro gramme was provided by the talent as sembled. Lillian Boss, ably seconded by Helen Waring, Mary Jane Moore and Marguerite Watson rendered a lullaby, handed on by them from their ancestors to their bric-a-brac children called "Slumber Song." George Hixson struck a responsive chord by the spirited recita tion of the ancient favorite about "Lit tle Fishes." The occasion reflected the generous and martial spirit of the hour,. Marguerite and Walter Watson sang the thrilling chorus of the Marseillaise in its native language, Hiram Mallison, Jr., declaimed a patriotic poem, "I Love my Flag," and the whole diminutive company joined in the refrain of the "Stars and Stripes Forever. ' ' Children's dances and distributed fav ors completed the afternoon, which was graced by the presence of Frances Thomas, Dorothy Chapman, Louise Emery, Elizabeth Cheatham, Clarissa Metcalf, Algene Edson, Theodota John son, Winifred Hathaway, Annabella Mc Nab, Helen Waring, Marguerite Watson, Lillian Boss, Mary Jane Moore, Julianne Waters, Virginia Pierce, Cory Page, James Tufts, Morton Eustis, Chick Den ham, Buster Haywood, Lawrence For sythe, Donald Dalton, Theo. Hoster, Benj. Langsdorf, Hathaway Watson, An derson Page, Sumner Waters, Junior Pierce, Walter Watson, Philip Johnson, Hugh Carter, Junior Moore, Hiram Malli son, Jr., George Hixson, Clarence Edson, George Dunlap.
