A SURPRISE PARTY AT CLUB HOUSE
A delightful surprise greeted the mem
bers of the Jockey Club and their guests
immediately afterwards in the aspect
and appointments of the Jockey Club
rooms. Mrs. Nat Kurd had invited them
to tea, and incidentally had remodelled
the rooms,, furnishing them with the
most fascinating and sportive tables and
chairs, all done in colors. Col. Swigert
had hung tho walls with the famous
horses which in times gone by won fame
and fortune for the Swigert stud. The
colony was well represented at the tea,
which promises to be tho initial success
of the Winter's functions at the Jockey
Club.
