Keating- Mrs. Clare Metcalf, of Providence, and Francis Talfourd Keating, of New York, were married in the Pinehurst chapel last Wednesday at high noon. There were no formal invitations issued, but the little church was filled with the friends of the bride and groom, both of whom have been associated with life in Pinehurst and the development of the colony for a long time. The Rev. T. A. Cheatham performed the ceremony. Mrs. Metcalf was attended by her daughter Clarissa and Miss Elizabeth Cheathaim J. G. Armstrong, of Buffalo, was Mr. Keat ing 's best man, and Mr. Frederick Bruce of New York, and Mr. R. C. Shannon, 2d, of Brockport, wrere the ushers. The chapel had beeen beautifully decorated with the trophies of the pine woods holly and pine tops and mistletoe and smilax. Mrs. Metcalf has spent her winters in Pinehurst in a very distinctive and at tractive cottage the Casa Yucca, which has the distinction "of being, under Mrs. Metcalf 's genius for design and decora tion, the pioneer of the architectural beauty that has characterized the build ing here of late years.
