Tin Whistles Versus Bogey
Over a half hundred Tin Whistles,
divided in three handicap brigades,
hurled themselves against Bogey on
the Number Two course, just after our
last number went to press.
C. H. Fownes was the bright partic
ular star of this occasion. Fownes
led the Class A field at 5 up; turned
in the best net score of the day; an 1
carried off the low gross honors with a
41-37,78, which is good enough as it
stands but would have been even bet
ter if C. B. had not elected to take a
5 on the ninth and another 5 on the
seventeenth. Save for that last nam
ed 5, Fownes played every hole, com
ing in, in 4.
C. B. Hudson carried off the Class B
prize. The prize in Class C went to
M. B. Byrnes.
