For Boys
Combines a thorough college preparatory course with
instruction in the elments of military science, and physical
training in accordance with modern military deals. Stu
dents are encouraged to enroll in the Cavalry Cadet Pla
toon. In respect to sport, the school specializes in golf, ten
nis, and horsemanship. Provision is also made for basket
ball, base ball and gymnastics; and special arrangements
are made for the care and suitable entertainment of very
young boys.
Though primarily a Boarding School, boys who live in
Pinehurst may be entered as day scholars.

stage of the round, nobody was heard
to suggest that Styles might give Arm
strong a run for the medal after all.
What happened was this. Styles play
ed the next 8 holes in 31 which gave
him a 4 for the 69 which he needed to
tie. Driving for the 18th however he
went into the rough and landed in a
bad lie. Somebody came along and ex
plained the situation to Styles and he
waved aside the mashie which the cad
die had presented as the club required
by the lie, took out a baffie and leaned
on it this being Styles ' own technical
diseription of his marvellous recover
shot and the ball sailed down the
course, over tne yawning traps and
came to rest a scant 20 yards from the
green. After that, nobody was surprised
when Styles approached to within 9 feet
of the cup and sank the put for the re
quired par 4 and a total of 69 for the
round. This, the best round played on
Xo. Two in the past two years and a
truly wonderful performance taking
things altogether, tied Styles with Arm-
