On Sunday, in one of the best pro fessional four ball matches staged at Pinehurst, this season, Willie Wilson, and Emmet French of York, defeated Herbert Lagerblade, of Youngstown, and Walter Howse, of the Tatnuck Club, by 2 and 1, on the championship course. The winner's best ball was 35-30, 65. The loser's 35-34, 69. La gerblade and Howe each won a hole going out, while Wilson won the first and the short nintn, under par, for his team. Coming in, Wilson and French took the tenth and eleventh, respectively, with birdies; Lagerblade and French halved the fourteenth in a pair of threes, and Howe won the fifteenth by going down" on his second shot from 20 yards off the green. That left Howe and Lagerblade 1 down and the match came to an end at the seven teenth where French holed out in 2, playing out of a trap. There were three threes on the sixth and eighth and three threes and a two on the ninth. The individual medal scores were: Lagerblade, 36-36, 72; Howe, 37-40, 77, French, 38-33, 71; Wilson, 39-37, 76.
