Golfers returning to Pinehurst this season will find the Country Club shining spick and span in trimmings of pleasing green, and the same cheery interior which has formed a gathering place for good fellowship for so many years. Donald Eoss, of course, will again be at the helm, and, with a coterie of capable as sistants, everything ,is in readiness to take care in fine shape of what promises to be record breaking crowds. Last sea son the number of players using the links was greater than during any previous year, and from present indications that number will be exceeded this season. Any possibility of crowding, however, has been eliminated by the fact that the new number four course has been completed and is in the best of condition and in all probability will be as popular as any of the other courses. This gives Pinehurst four 18 hole courses 13 miles of golf links. The greens and fairways have received careful attention during the summer and fall, and are now in the pink of condition. Another welcomed im provement is the rearrangement of the Southern Pines road which formerly passed directly in front of the Club House. It has been rearranged so as to extend along the railroad tracks to the race track, thence across to the inter section of the Aberdeen road. This will eliminate danger hazards and in terference to golfers playing number one and number two courses. John Fitzgerald will be on hand at the Grill with a competent chef and staff which will insure the success of a luncheon or dinner party at any time. The attaches at the club remain about the same.
