Blues Defeat Reds in Joint
Tournament
N. W. Peters and G. W. Mead won the
best-ball four-ball handicap competition
held by the Tin Whistle club on Christ
mas Day with the low net score of 71.
Both Mr. Peters and Mr. Mead are 11
handicap meu and as they were allowed
two-thirds of their handicap they each
had the advantage of strokes on eight
holes. Five pairs were tied for second
honors with net scores of 75. A Red and
Blue team match was held in connection
with the four-ball tournament, and the
Blues won by 11 1-2 to 9 and 1-2.
The Silver Foils played their first
match of the season on Friday last in the
form of a Handicap vs. Bogey which re
sulted in a tie for first prize in Class A
between Mrs. Donald Parson and Mrs.
II. H. Rackham, both of whom finished 2
up on the Colonel. Mrs. Parson, who
was the low handicap player of the field,
carried off the honors for the best gross
score of the day.
Miss Anne Merrill led the higher hand
icap division at 4 up and won the prize
in Class B.

The Putting Contest for Boys and
Girls on Christinas Day resulted in a tic
between R. H. and W. M. Swoope in the
boys' division, and the girls' division
was won by Miss Betty Close with a
score of 27.
