He looked like a repeater, but facing the wind at the first and second holes of the afternoon round, he took two 6 's, being- in traps at the first and in the rough at the second. Then at the third and fourth he took 5's and finished the round in 81. O'Hara took a 6 on the first hole and then settled into a grand round, going out in 35 and returning in 37 for a 72, the lowest score made during the day. Walter Hagen failed to get in the money and a number of good men failed in the homestretch. Prize Winners Pat O'Hara 73-75-72220 C. W. Dow 89-86-83258 Amateur On March 17 a campaign was com menced to raise $10,000 to apply on the debt against the James McConnell hos pital, an institution located at Eureka, N. C, six miles from Pinehurst, and es tablished in 1917 by the Sandhill Board of Trade through its executive committee Eoger A. Derby, John E. McQueen, Leon ard Tufts, Frank Page, H. P. McPher son and Sheriff D. Al Blue. , Originally, the hospital was meant for taking care of the development defects occurring in school children and to pro vide a proper place for the sick needing hospital treatment, but this purpose hav ing to a large extent been accomplished, the hospital has expanded its field to take care of all general acute medical and sur gical cases. Since the hospital was established it has built up a good institution and done a tremendous lot of work, but it has been working against the task of too little money for too big a job, and at the present time it faces a debt of about $12,000. For this reason the campaign for funds has been started. A house to house canvass will be made, urging every body to contribute something to the fund. Money will be the great desideratum, but where money is-"not convenient anything that has a market or useful value will be acceptable. Cotton, corn, a ham or two, flour, supplies of all sorts anything to ll el p overcome this debt. Contributions may be forwarded to any of the committee named above;, or to the hospital direct. Numerous entertain ments to raise funds for this purpose are being held in Pinehurst, and it is hoped that everyone will aid in this worthy cause. MRS. H. E. MOLES WINS RIFLE CONTEST . Mrs. H. E.
