At The Races THE redoubtable LoveBerry, the speedy pacer belonging to A. W. Hodges, of Benson, N. C, and driven by Moore, kept on his winning way at the Jockey Club races this week and won first money in the Outlook Pace, making the eleventh straight victory for this good horse. W. H. Cane, owner of the Good Time Stables at Goshen, N. Y., scored his usual "one or more victories" when he won the February Trot with Let Fly and the combination harness race with Norman Dillon. Wilbur J. Myers, of Springfield, Ohio, who formerly raced a pretentious string throughout that section and who is making an extended visit to Pinehurst, took part in the combination race and won third money with Waupenee, Jr., entered by Ruohs Pyron. Hot Muffins, entered by Mrs. C. H. Norton, of Mineola, L. I., and ridden by Snyder, outdistanced the field in the six furlong flat race and Miss Helen Waring's Joe Milliner added another victory to his long career when he came home in front in the five and half furlong event. The five furlong match race between Claude Walker, ridden by Eric Hatch, and Anvil, with J. C. Thomas up, resulted in a victory for the former. Thomas went off to a long lead but appeared over confident in the stretch and the superb riding of Hatch landed him a winner by a nose. The steeplechase race brought out the best contest of the day. This event was won by the Red Gables stable's Kate Glenn, ridden by Smith, but only after a tough battle" with P. Christie's Notting ham which hung to the winner's saddle cloth from the start to the finish. OUTLOOK PACE LoveBerry (Moore) 1 1 The Judge (Cane) 2 2 Billy Allen (Hawkins) 3 3 Time 2:17, 2:18.
