Mitchell, of Montclair, N. J.t and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence J. Hand, of Orange, N. J., who are staying at the Holly Inn, entertained at bridge in "the Dutch Room" on Wed nesday evening, February 21st. Among those present were Mr. and Mrs. Robert Cookman, Dr. and Mrs. George Norton, Mr. and Mrs. J. Hoyt Gallup, and Mrs. Leta Gallup Hogan, Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Bauer and Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Carney. While the refresh ments were being served, the prizes were presented with appropriate speeches. Mrs. Hogan had high score for the ladies, while Dr. Norton and Mr. Cookman were the winners among the men. o Miss Josephine C. Watts, of Philadelphia, has rented the Prim rose Cottage for the balance of the season. o Mrs. M. C. Bartholomew, of Lansing, Mich., is the guest of Mr. and Mrs. George J. Jenks at White Shingles. George Washington was honored in fitting manner by the several hotels. All were decorated with flags and the tables were gay with fancy menus and favors. Dances at Holly Inn and Carolina, the card of admission being a display of "your national colors." Swoope, Miss Bohland, of Mid-Pines; Miss Margaret Deeves, J. E. McQuail and Miss Florence Stanton. Mrs. Russell Wiggins, who is occupying the Albemarle cottage this season, entertained at the Pine Cabin Tea House on Saturday last in honor of her visitor Mrs. William Woodward, of Middle town, N. Y. Her guests were Mrs. Spencer Waters, Mrs. J. T. Newton, Mrs. C. S. Waterhouse and her guest Mrs. H. C. Philbrick, Mrs. J. M. Franciscus, Mrs. F. J. Ryan, Mrs. H. W. Priest and Miss Lucy Priest. Mrs. H. C. Philbrick, of Auburndale, Mass., and Mr. Eberhart Faber, of New York, are guests of Mrs. C. S. Waterhouse. Mrs. William Woodward, of Middletown, N. Y., is the guests of Mrs. Russell Wiggins at Albemarle Cottage. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Stewart and family of Chicago, who re cently purchased the Dickinson Bishop cottage are at present oc cupying Dr. Myron W. Marr's cottage. Mrs. C. B. Hudson entertained at bridge and tea at the Country Club for Mrs. Stuart H. Patterson, Mrs. H. W. Priest and Mrs. J. F. Gilmore.
