I British Polo Team to Play at Pinehurst THE famous British polo team which has been playing so brilliantly throughout the -Northern cities, will try its hand on the open playing fields at Pinehurst against the Pinehurst team and possibly other visiting teams. The visitors will stage their first game on March 18. F. W. Egan is captain of the team and has played in most all of the principal matches in England and France, and last winter he took a team to Barcelona, Spain, where they won the open champion ship. Captain F. L. Warford, a member of the team, was for many years army polo instructor in Germany. He began his polo ex perience while with his regiment in South Africa. Captain W. F. Holman, another member of the team, is not only a dashing player, but a breeder of polo ponies and owns some of the world's best known ponies. Captain Holman belongs to one of England's foremost sporting families, his father and four uncles being well known as amateur steeplechase riders. He started his polo career at the age of 17. Captain McMullen of the team is of the 20th Lancers, Indian Cavalry, and has been playing regularly with his regiment in India. Pinehurst Defeats Fort Bragg The game between Pinehurst and Fort Bragg this week resulted in another victory for the local team, 7 goals to 4. John A. Tucker man and Major Duval, playing for Pinehurst, and Major Batson of the army team, were the particular playing stars of the occasion, each scoring three goals. Fort Bragg played with a 1 handicap which gave them a total of 4 goals. Richard S. Lovering scored the other goal for Pinehurst. The line-up was : Fort Bragg Position Pinehurst Lieut. Campbell 1 J. Lovering The Silver Foils rl 1 HE Silver F oils' Medal Play tournament played on the Num ber 3 course on Thursday last was won by Miss Sara Fownes, who played with a plus 10 handicap and wound up the round with a net score of 44-44-88-10-98. Miss Fownes' gross round of 88 was also the best gross round of the day. Mrs. Joseph Bydolek played with a plus 9 handicap and tied, at 99, with three other members for second place.
