W. Egan,, captain; Capt. W. F. Holman, Capt. L. F. Walford and Capt. Kenneth McMullen, came here for a series of games with teams of the Sandhill Polo Club. The first game, played on Tuesday, was a hard fought contest against the Sandhill Blues comprising John W. Latting, J. A. Tuck erman, W. V. Slocock and R. S. Lovering and resulted in a victory for the home quartet by 10 goals to 4. It was the Englishmen's first outdoor appearance in America and they were handicapped by the strange ponies and lack of practice, but on several occasions during the game they displayed remarkable flashes of form and indicated that the remaining games might tell a different story. And they did. The second game took place on Thursday against the Green team with James L. Breese, Major C. K. Rhinehart, Major J. D. Duval and Major R. C. Watson comprising the line-up. Captain Egan, who was suffering from lumbago and could not play after the first game, was substituted by W. V. Slocock at No. 3, and Mr. Slocock certainly gave his team-mates some able assistance. i f CO GOLF BALLS YUR first tryout on the putting greens with a Blue Colonel Golf Ball shows you its remarkable balance, for it rolls straight, saving you many an otherwise wasted stroke. And fewer putts mean a lower score. And in driving and on approaches this balance manifests itself in unusual distance and precise direction, the Blue Colonel's lasting qualities proving downright economy. Blue Colonel, Dimpled and Meshed Marking, $1 each; $12 a dozen. Colonel 1.62, Dimpled and Meshed Marking, and Colonel 27, Dimpled Marking, 75c each; $9 a dozen. ST. MUNGO MANUFACTURING CO.
