P. RANDOLPH, Jr., of Lakewood, N. J., won the .annual Mid-April golf tournament which came to a close on Saturday last, defeating R. C. Steese, of Youngstown, 2 and 1 in the final round. The final match was played in a gale of wind, but the winner managed to complete the round under the 80 mark. Steese disposed of the first nine holes in 39 but did not play so well in the second half. He was 1 up at the eighth and made himself 2 up at the turn by going down in 2 on the short ninth. Randolph started his winning streak at the tenth and over took and passed his opponent by playing the first four holes of the inward journey in a total only a stroke over the par aggregate, winning all four of them. This gave Randolph a two-hole lead which he held until the finish. One of the outstanding features of the tournament was the victory of Oliver S. Redfield in the second division. Oliver-is just 18 years of age, but he qualified well up in his division and after working his way through the match rounds he met Nat S. Hurd in the finals whom he defeated, 1 up, at the end of a 19-hole struggle. D. Frank Dillon, of Fitchburg, won the third division trophy and S. Y. Ramage, J. W. Townsend and C. W.
