'in any game during the tournament, and the exhibition of polo
between them and Winston-Salem and the Sandhill teams was the
best that has been seen here in some time, their score against
Winston-Salem being 10 to 8 and 10 to 4 against the Sandhill team.

Charles Hackett in Concert

HARLES HACKETT, one of America's greatest tenors,
entertained an enthusiastic audience at the Carolina
theatre on Tuesday evening, December 5, with a rendition
of delightful selections from Handel, Chopin, Gounod and other
great composers. He was accompanied at the piano by Solon
Alberti, himself an artist of great renown and who rendered a
number of charming selections.
Mr. Hackett was at his best that evening, and from his operatic
air, Ah! leve tol soleil, from Romeo and Juliette, by Gounod,
down to his last encore, he held his audience enraptured and encore
after encore greeted his marvelous voice.
