These boys are proud of the fact that the national open champioship will be held in their city this summer. And well they should be, for they have a championship lay-out for the contest to be played upon. -o Stymies are playing an important part in matches here this season. One hates to lay one, as well as be laid, but per haps the time is not far distant when this, impediment will be eliminated. Hats off to Willie Wilson and Fred Corcoran, who handle the score board during tournaments. They surely keep neat tabulation pf the fortunes of the contestants. Mistakes are few and far between. ---o--— Ted Gow and Bert Nicol turned the tables on Emmet French and Joe Capello at Southern Pines, Sunday, winning by the score of 2 and 1. 3. he winners were three up at the turn but the golf of French was so fine coming in as to make a real match of it. This well-known pro came flying home in •33 strokes.- •*.**♦■; «T«I«t«s Dis-ist ; » « PINEHURST, NORTH-CAROLIN A 't Open October to May Anew hotel, luxuriously furnished and catering to an exclusive clientele.
