Girls Creecy 13 6 2 10-31 Vann 10 0 8 (^18 HIRE WITH A WANT AD RICH SQUARE - The R. L. Vann boys took victory number four rolling over W. S. Creecy, 69-47, however the W. S. Creecy lassies outshot the Vann girls, 31-18. Both girls’ teams got off to a very fast start as theflrstperlod ended 13-10 in favor of Vann. Creecy scored six in the second blanking the lady Trojans. In the third frame the Trojenettes re taliated and outshot tbeladyFan- thers 8-2. The lady Panthers found the mark again in the final period to gain 10 more points and held Vann’s girls scoreless. The defeat evened their record at 2-2. Shirley Emory paced the Vann girls with lO, Frances Rid dick and Linda aided their losing effort with four points each. Thelma Edwards was the high scorer for the Creecy girls with Creecy-T. Edwards-15, Boyce -lO, Clark-4, G. PIerce-2, J. Edwards-1, Cabier, Peterson, D. Pierce, Tann, C. Jacobs, E. Ja cobs, S. Leonard of the State Employment Office reported here today that the Employment Se curity Commission has openings for over 70 youth employment counselors, counselor trainees and interviewers. He said the state agency in tends to hire persons to act as special advisors to unemployed and disadvantaged young people, and counselor positions will be available in almost every local Employment Security Commis sion office. Since there is a shortage of qualified counselors, the ESC has established a training pro gram for college graduates inter ested in vocational guidance. Ap plicants must have earned at least nine semester hours in courses relating to counseling. Those ac cepted as counselor trainees will begin at $5,400 a year and will receive additional academic and on-the-job training before pro motion to employment counse lors. Persons withamaster’sde- gree in guidance or counseling may apply for regular employ ment counselor positions start ing at $6,000 a year, Leonard said that applicants need no experience to apply for jobs. Examinations will be ^ven each week at various points about the state, and applications are available at the local ESC office located at 945 Park Avenue in Roanoke Rapids.
