Speaker JACKSON - Members of the Pleasant Grove WSCS had Mrs. Russell Johnson of Conway as guest speaker at their February meeting. Mrs. Johnson serves as secre tary for Campus Ministry in the Rocky Mount district. She spoke to the members on "New Concepts ofMembership,” pointing out the importance of visiting new members, as well as keeping the old members and shut-ins interested in the work of the WSCS. Mrs. H. L. Stephenson and Mrs. Lloyd Parker presented a skit on visitation. Mrs. D. L. Taylor, president, led the group in a service of re dedication. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Carl Price and Mrs. P. R. Barrett. Members present included Mesdames R, R. Barrett, H. H. Hargrave, Mabel Hughes, Grace Wall, W. R. Parker, Lloyd Par ker, N. L. During the first of the month Mrs, Taylor Oakes from the First Methodist Church of Roa noke Rapids conducted a study at the Seaboard church with wom en from Sharon and Pleasant Grove in attendance. The study, "Missions: TheChristian'sCall- ing" was the basis forMrs.Tay- lor’s discussion. Last Thursday the women met in the Sharon Church. Mrs. J. W. Boone, Sr., of the Pleasant Grove society talked on the book, "Realms of Our C ailing.She made a concise presentation of what it means to be called as Christians, both as individuals and as members of the church.
