HUP -SIM' BiitS. The fire waste in this country has become alarming in its proportions. Among the efforts being put forth for a conservation of our resources, no one is more worthy of your as sistance then the "one to stop or de crease our annual fires. In no direct ion is the necessity greater or the prospects of success more hopeful. The annual fire lossin this coun try is. about $250,000,000, o: $500 each minute. In our own State it is estimated that the loss by fire is 31,500,000, or over $4,000 each day. Students of this subject tell us that the bulk of these fires are the result of ignorance, carelessness, or crimin ality, and that with ordinary care two-thirds should e prevented. In order to stop this annual loss , that is a disgrace to our Nation and State, it is necessary to educate pur people and awaken an interest along this line. LOST a gold bracelet on main street in Sylva, Finder please re .turn to Journal office and receive reward; IMPORTANT! Let every 'one in Sylva wjio will keep summer boarders during the season send in their names at once to the Board of Trade. The town Booklet is now being prepared , and this is' very important, ' WORK FOR THE EDITOR. Most anyone can be an editor.
