I f 11 k mm f SOUTHERN RAILWAY NEW TRADEMARK The Southern Railway Company has adopted a new and attractive trade mark as shown above. The design "SR" is symbolic to the! name of the road and the wording i "The Southern Serves the South" is suggestive of the many lines oper ated by the Southern Railway throughout all of the states south of the Ohio and Potomac and east of the Mississippi rivers. There is hardly a city or town of importance through cut the entire South that is not connected with the balance of the South, either di rectly by the Southern Railway's own trains or by sleeping car lines over other roads in connection with Southern Railway, via some ad jacent junction point. On this account the title "The Southern Serves the South" was .adopted as being appropriate. Southern Railway spends about $200,000.00 a year in advertising and a great deal of this advertising i . done in the Northern, Eastern nd Western sections of the coun try so as to attract people into the South, and on ail of this advertising matter this trade mark will appear hereafter.
