The CommunityChristmasTree will be decorated Monday, and the ex ercises and distribution of presents will occur Monday evening. The tree will be at the lower end of Main Street, near the memorial fountain, and will be lighted by the Dillsboro and Sylva Electric Company, free of charge. A meeting was held at the Baptist church, Monday evening, and Dan Tompkins was elected chairman of the central committee, and com mittees appointed as follows : To get the tree, Harry Buchanan, Cordell Russell, I. J ? o DILLSBORO TO HAVE COMMUNITY TREE The annual Community Christmas Tree at Dillsboro will be held in the school auditoiium there, Monday evening. The Dillsboro people have been holding a community tree each Christmas for a number of years, the Methodist and Baptist churches join ing in the movement and holding a joint tree. THAD SMITH, JR., DIES OF BURNS Thad Smith, Jr., the 14 year-old son, of Mr. ami Mrs. Thad D. Smith was burned to ~3eath, in* Florence, Alabama, where his parents arc tern poraily residing, Monday.
