schools and Western Carolina
Teachers College. For the past a

Murphy. At the present she is
connected with the Tennessee
Valley Authority, at Farner,
Tennessee.
Lieut. Owens, the son of Mr.
and Mrs. C. C. Owens, of Shelby
is an alumnus of Bingham Military
School, of Asheville, and of
the University of North Carolina.

On last Friday afternoon, little
Miss Rachel Karp celebrated
her birthday with a party at the
Community House.
A number of games were enjoyed
by her little friends and
the house was decorated in pink
