Assisting Mr. Liles .in this program is Lawrence Rogers, Route 3. Rox boro who is a full time assistance teacher of agriculture specializing in veterans work. Their class room job outline calls for study in such subjects as farm management, soil conservation, field crops, farm me chanics. livestock and other farm enterprises. Evans, Melvin W. Ashley, Mar shall Rex Gass, Hassel O. McCul lock. Carr J. Clayton. Charles Lance Chambers and Rainey R. Crabtree. All of the above veterans are scat tered throughout the southern half of the county. This' fall In his 4 acre pasture demonstration Mr. Liles states that the fertilizer to be used will be furnished by the Plant Food Insti tute. FIRST STEP IS STUDY OF SOILS AND THEIR CAPABILTIES J. D. Roberts, Soil Surveyor of the Dan River District last week made a detail roil survey of 15 of the 18 farms in which he classified the land according to its capability class. This survey will constitute the basis of study of the various soil types, amount of sheet and gully erosion that has taken place, the'slope and lay of land and its present land use.
