During this time, the company will do nate a portion of their concession funds to the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School Foundation. Manager Carl Johnson said he talked with several members of the community before selecting this organization. “We chose the schools because we felt there was a real need,” said Manager Carl Johnson. “We wanted to help sup port the education of the children of the area.” In the past, Eastern Federal has helped a variety of charitable organizations through their theaters. One example that particularly stands out was a program that benefitted the Heart Foundation, said Cecil Allen. Admission to the mov ies was free, but the company requested that donations be made to the organiza tion. “You can talk all you want about help ing the community, but actions speak loudly,” Allen said. ‘That’s what our company wants to do.”
