The Marion Record announces the sale of the Charleston, Cincinnati & Chicago railroad, and says that work will be resumed by August 1st on the line between Marion and Johnson City, Tenn. A new lodge of Odd Fellows is soon to be organized in Wilmington. Ap plication has been made for a charter 10 Grand Master J no. D. T. Crooin, corner Eighth and Wooster streets, yesterday morning, says the Wilmington Messenger, but was frightened away beiore getting into the house. Mrs. Croom happened to be awake, and hearing something at the window saw a large negro man thioiiirh the slats of the window blinds. The window was up and he had his arm through, endeavoring to unfasten the fastenings of the blinds. She screamtd and awakened Mr. d oom, and of course, the burglar lied.
