Poverty may have been a barrier to many young men in the past but it is not so today. Men are measured by their character and brains now and without knowledge there can be no power. We call attention to this matter with humiliation that our young men should have been so blind to their highest and best interest, wi h the hope that they see their mistake and that the proposed night school' may yet be a great success A nice dress, a good pair of shoes or a thousand other things too nam erous to mention constitute appro priate presents for the home circle at Christmas. All of these ran be found in profusion at the new and elegant emporium' ot Messrs 0. A. ( Sherwood on Fayetteviile street east side between Hargett street and Mar ket square.
