Much is made of little things, which is quite fitting for this time of year. Some of the new touches can be used admirably to freshen up last year's frocks and suits to this year's smartness. By observing the individual touches to the latest styles, you can discover little trimmings or slants on chic that piay enable you to re-make the style of a garment that is perfectly good but not new. Collars and Cuffs Take the matter of collars and cuffs. It has been years since it was correct to add contrasting ones of utterly different fabrics. Now it is not only good; it is positively chic. ' A linen, batiste or organdy rounding collar and flaring cuffs added to a crepe de chine waist will make it into a modish affair. Bandings of brighter or darker silk grosgrain ribbon on patterned frocks brighten them and make them like new. Consider the little peplum that is so good now. A frock strolling down Park avenue the other day had a plain bright blue pleated peplum decorating a figured bright blue material. Doubtless the collar and cuffs repeated the contrasting plain fabric. It is a thought to turn over in the mind when looking through the wardrobe. A plain, straightline frock can easily have a pleated peplum added to it and its stylishness doubled. Flowers are ever a decorative note. New ones of lizard, scarlet, patent leather, or other colorful leather come in sets with belts and hatbands and dress up a plain little blue suit very nicely. Flowers should be chosen very carefully. "When just right they are lovely on costumes. But a wrong choice is poor taste indeed. A Trim Rig Suspender frocks are in again. A pleated skirt from last year | used with a tuck-in blouse of offl white makes a very trim rig when suspenders of the skirt's silk climb the shoulder of the blouse and cross in the back. Button them on with fancy buttons and you are fixed. Reams could be written about the addition of a bow here and there. Obvious bows are-never rtuite so good as when they are merely ends of collars or cuffs and tie naturally. To avoid a too obJr., spent a week end in Weldon with Mrs. Hall's sister Mrs. Ed wara w. nan.
