EXPRESSION OF SYMPATHY
An expression of sympathy from
the many colored friends of Capt.
J. P. Leach:
We called him Captain in honor
of his dear father, who departed
this life some years ago and was
loved by all who knew him. And
as his father was, Captain J. P.
Leach, Jr., was loved by all of us.
We can say for him what we are
unable to say for all. That is, he
believed that God in his divine plan
created all men equal.
Captain Leach may have had his
shortcomings as all of us do, and
yet we have reasons to believe that
jhe had faith in his Maker and that
he trusted Him for his goodness.
Captain Leach was no respector of
persons. He dealt with all men,
'white and colored, alike. We loved
him but God loved him best, and
we stand firm in our belief that today
he is at rest.
We also pray God's benediction
upon his dear family.
(Rev.) S. G. DUNSTON.
