HONORS VISITORS Mrs. John A. Dameron entertain-' ed informally on Saturday afternoon at Tea in her home complimentary to Dr. Anna M. Cove, head physician at W- C. of U. N. C., since founding of the college, and Miss Virginia Ragsdale, a former teacher of Mathematics at Guildford College, who were week end guests of Misses Julia and ^illy Belle Dameron. Tea was poured by Miss Josephine Dameron of Korea and Warrenton. The home was festive in lovely fall flowers. MISSIONARY SOCIETY MEETS The Warren Plains Methodist Missionary Society met with large attendance in the church on Thursday afternoon. The president, Mrs. A. H. Walker, was in charge. Readings were given by Mesdames Arthur Rodwell, James Randolph, Sam j Wilson and Misses Sue Harris and Kitty Wilson. D. A. R. MEET Fourteen members of the Daughters of the Revolution were entertained by Mrs. C. R. Rodwell on Friday afternoon. An interesting paper on "The Hawaiian Islands" was read by Mrs. Rodwell. Plans were made to have Dr. Mary Slooo, head of the Crosnore School, make a talk to members here on-November 7th. A sweet course was served during the social hour. PRESBYTERIANS MEET Mrs. Joe Ellis was hostess to members of the Presbyterian Mis sionary Society in ner nome Monday afternoon. Mrs- H. R. Skillman, president, led the meeting. Interesting readings were given by Mesdames J. E. Rooker, Jr., W. K. Lanier, Sam Davis and J C. Moore. An ice course was served the 12 attending guests. Mrs. Leete Hostess Macon Bridge Club Mrs Lauren Leete of Macon was hostess to members of the Wednesday Contract Bridge club in her home this week Members playing were Misses Ethel Russell and Carrie Brame and Mesdames Caswell Drake, Elizabeth Rugg, Clarence Thompson, Robert Hill Shaw and Leete. Spread over top of pie and bake in moderate oven (350?F.) | for 10 to 15 minutes or until | meringue is delicately browned. Covers one 9-lnch pie. Banana Chocolate Cream Pie To make the chocolate banana pie shown In illustration, use your favorite pastry to line a deep dish. Fill with a layer of sliced bananas, pour on chocolate filling, and garnish with banana slices and whipped cream, as shown. The home was effectively decorated in a variety of fall flowers. Top score prize was awarded Mrs. F. M. Drake, Jr., and Miss Alice Morgan was left with the floating gift. Others playing were Mesdames Thomas Traynham, H. E. Evans, Caswell Drake of Macon and Muses Margaret Blalock, Mary and Hattie Drake, Peggy White, Margaret Capps, Ida Winstead and Nancy Gillam. Y. W. At this time the officers of the Young People's Service League were installed. Palmer Scoggin, assisting. Much enthusiasm has been aroused in the recent organization of this Junior Service League with meetings being held each Sunday evening at 7:00 o'clock.
