Fal law, Nan and Marths Ann to Columbia, S. C? by train last Saturday. Mrs. Fallaw and the children remained for a visit with her parents this week. Brack Overby of Raleigh spent several days last week with his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Roy Overby. L. W. Smith returned Sun day after spending several > days at Watts Hospital in Dur ham. Zion WSCS Meets With Mrs. Hicks The Zion WSCS met on Monday night at the home of | Mis. William Hicks with Mrs. H. P. Mayfield as co-hostess. J The devotional was led by Mrs. J ff'HIcks. Mrs. Alton Paschail presided in the absence of the presi dent, Mrs. W. F. Rooker. Af ter routine business an inter esting program on "Rich To ward God" was presented by Mrs. C. P. Rooker. I Funderburk at the morning j worship services of the Zion land Jerusalem Methodist Churches at 9:50 a. m. and 11:15 a. m., respectively, on I Sunday, May 13. All members t and friends of the churches ; are invited. Last Sunday, May 6, the young people of the Jerusalem j Zion Charge were hosts to the WARCO MYF Subdistrict at 6:00 o'clock p. m. at the Zion Church. The meditation was led by Peggy Felts, Cliffie King and Ronnie King of the Jerusalem Church. The pro gram was a showing of slides of the Methodist Camping Pro gram in North Carolina by the Rev. Troy Barrett. Officers for the new year were elected and installed by Bob Fleming, outgoing President. Refresh ments were served by the MYF members of Zion and Je rusalem Churches to approxi mately 75 persons following the program and business ses sion. The Official Board of the Jerusalem Church will meet on Monday evening, May 14, at 8 o'clock at the church. A' members of the Board are urged to attend. On Tuesday evening. May 15, the study course, "Churches I and Public Affairs" will be presented at the Zion Church at 8 o'clock Several ladies of I the WSCS will participate in I teaching the study under the I direction of Mrs. W. B. May field. All ladies of the charge are invited to be present for this final study of the church year. The Young Adult Fellowship of the Zion Church will hold its regular monthly meeting on Wednesday evening, May 18, at 8 o'clock at the church. All members and guests will be welcome. Ruritans Have 4-H Club Program A 4-H Club program was presented to members of the Norlina Ruritan Club during their regular dinner meeting on Tuesday night in the Woman's Club Building, with L. B. Hardage and Mrs. John Kilian as leaders. Paul Lancaster and Ginger Hicks taled on 4-11 Club Work. Hardage and Graham Grissom had charge of the program. Kenneth Severance, presi dent, presided over the busi ness session and the members agreed to construct backstops for the new tennis courts, now being blacktopped by the Wo man's Club. Circle 3 Meets With Mrs. Rivers Circle No. 3 of the Woman's j Society of Christian Service of 1 the Norlina Methodist Church 1 met at the home of Mrs. S. B. Rivers on Monday at 3 p. m. 1 with 13 members present. The program consisted of a ' discussion on "Giving Your self" by Mrs-. M. E. Walker and Mrs W. A. Delbridge. During the social hour the hostess served ice cream and pound cake. Circle 2 Meets At Home Mrs. Lewis Circle No. 2 of the WSCS of the Norlina Methodist Church held its regular monthly meet I ing on Monday evening at the ' home of Mrs. J. B. Lewis with Mrs. W. S. Hicks as joint hos The program, "Giving Your self," was given by Mrs. Dwlght L. Scot ten and Mrs. G. P. Grissom. At the conclusion of the meeting the guests were invit ed into the dining room where punch, ham biscuits, nuts, cookies and cheese delights were served to the sixteen members. The next meeting will be held on June 5 with Mrs. Wal lace Newman and Mrs. Henry Wiggings as hostesses. YAF Meets At Methodist Church The Young Adult Fellowship met last Sunday evening at the Norlina Methodist Church with Leigh Traylor presiding and 14 members attending. Mr. and Mrs. Clayton Taylor had charge of the program. They introduced as their speaker Phil Lewis who spoke on Indian Relics and showed his collection of arrowheads and other relics. Following the program the group adjourned to the fellow ship hall where Jim Hundley and Leon Knight, hosts for tho meeting, served potato chips, assorted crackers, nuts and drinks. Mission Study Course To Be Held A Mission Study Coure will be held at the Norlina Metho dist Parsonage on Friday even ing, May 11, from 7 until 9 o'clock. Junior 4-H Club Holds April Meet The April meeting of the'Nor lina Junior 4-H Club was held at the gym. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Tony Carroll and Patsy Young led the 4-H Pledge. Charles Draf fin read the devotions. The program began with Pa tricia Satterwhite giving the introduction, "Happy Minds." Parts were read by Linda Pas chall, Hazel Paschall, Bill Rob inson, Carolyn Richardson, Ruth Mayfield, Robert Bender and Carol Taylor. Patricia Sat terwhite read "Your Mental Garden." Sandra Hicks read the 4-H Citizenship Pledge. "What Is Your Heritage?" was read by Marshall Perry Mr. L. B. Hardage gave a talk. Patsy Hicks gave a talk on "Who pays for schools and other public property." Jerri Yancey read the minutes of the last meeting. Eunice Smi ley led the group In singing "America" and "The Old North State."
