Rural North Carolina?
&
Sure, the KEA cu-ops helped do tlie jul?. And in doing
so tiiey have performed a valuable service.
BUT . . . investor-owned companies such as CP&L are
serving aboul 60 per cent . . . THREE OF EVERY FIVE
. . . of the rural electric consumers in this state. REA
co-ops are serving 32 per cent and municipal systems
about 8 per cent. These figures are based on information
from the 1962 report of the North Carolina Rural Elec
trification Authority.
. .
CP&L is proud of its rural customers and of its own
record of supplying them electric power at a price that
is well below the average for the nation.
