Reams Speaker At Woman's Club Meet Frank W. Reams, Industrial Director for Warren County, was the guest speaker at a meeting of the Norlina Woman's Club held on Wednesday night of last w?>ek at the clubhouse. Presented by Mrs. Leigh Traylor, public affairs chair man, Mr. Reams showed slides on the development of Warren County. Mrs. O. H. Yancey, Mrs. Jim Hundley and Mrs. Clyde Edwards were hostesses for the meeting. Mrs. Wallace Sai lings, president, presided and Mrs. L. C. Davis led the de votlonal. During the business session the members decided to give a lectern for the club house as a memorial for ijrs. John Dowling, a deceased club mem ber. The members also voted to sponsor the cancer drive for Norlina. The group was told that Mrs. L. A. Kilian, a club member, won an award for a bonnet in the Fine Arts Festi val held at Butner Saturday. The hostesses served Jello topped with whipped cream, pound cake and coffee to the 23 persons present. Circle 2 Meets At Home Mrs. Thexton Circle No. 2 of the Woman's Society of Christian Service of the Norlina Methodist Church held its regular monthly meet ing last Monday night at the home of Mrs. B. A. Thaxton. Mrs. J. B. Lewis presided over the routine business ses sion and led the devotional mes sage. The program, "The New Prophet As An Agent For Change," was presented by Mrs. Graham Grissom, Mrs. John Clarke and Mrs. George Read. During the social hour the hostess served a salad plate and coffee. R. Manning, celebrated her 65th birthday.-" ?? ? Coleman Funeral Held On Sunday Funeral services for Wlllard Waverly Coleman, 69, were conducted Sunday at 3 p. m. at Mt. Auburn Christian Church In the Drewry community by the Rev. W. C. Baughman, Jr., pastor of the Norllna Baptist Church, assisted by the Rev. Carsoh Lewis of the Norllna Methodist Church. Burial was In Sunset Gardens In Henderson. Mr. Coleman died in Warren General Hospital on Friday afternoon. The son of the late Levle and Florence Rose Cole man, he was born on Feb. 22, 1900. He was a retired mer chant of Norllna. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sudie Clark Coleman of Norllna; two sons, William Edward Cole man, of Las Vegas, Nev., and Marvin Holt Coleman of Jack sonville, Ark., two daughters, Mrs. Glenn Ayscue of Epsom and Mrs. Charles Carde of Klnston; two brothers, V. A. Coleman of Norllna and Her bert Coleman of Maryland; two sisters, Mrs. A. C. Preny of Hilton Village, Md., and Mrs. E. L. Hines of Maryland, and seven grandchildren. Before being berthed at Wil mington as a state memorial, the Battleship U.S.S. North Carolina steamed 307,000 miles in World War II duty. Attend Party Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Bowers pSjKrs. G. B.
