Lambert, Jr., of Louisburg announce the birth of a son, Charles Arthur, on Dec. 13 at Franklin Memorial Hospital In Louisburg. Mrs. Lambert Is the former Miss Dorothy Mustlan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Mustlan of Norlina. MRS. ALFRED CRAIG VALGHAN, JR. & Former Warrenton Girl And Mr. Vaugban Wed Miss Jane Elizabeth Morris of Keysvllle, Va, and Mr. Alfred Craig Vaughan, Jr., of Victoria, Va., were united In marriage at three o'clock In the afternoon, Sunday, Dec. 13, at Ash Camp Baptist Church in Keysvllle. The Reverend Co an Agee officiated at the doublering ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randolph Bagley Morris of Keysvllle. The groom Is the son of Mr. Alfred Craig Vaughan of Victoria and the late Elizabeth Love Vaughan. Mrs. Herbert B. Owen and Mr. Herbert B. Owen , Jr., presented a program of nuptial music, an organ and clarinet duet, "A Time For Us." Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal white gown designed by Prise Ilia of Boston. The gown was of double silk organza with complete overlay of Alencon lace enhanced with seed pearls and crystals. The veil of French silk illusion attached to a matching Alencon lace toque, hand embroidered with seed pearls and crystals. She carried a cascade bouquet of white miniature pompons centered with a white catteleya orchid. Mrs. David George Betts of Kenbrldge, Va., was matron of honor. She wore a floor-length gown of red velvet, high neckline, empire waist and long sleeves. She carried a white fur muff with matching fur pill-' box headpiece. The bridesmaids were Miss Janet Leigh Graham of Galas, Va., Miss Margaret Elsie Wright of Woodbridge, Va., Miss Deborah Carolyn King of Warrenton, N. C. and Miss Jane We vers of Woodstock, Va., Miss Jo Jeen Rusak, sister of the groom, was the Junior bridesmaid. Their dresses were Identical to the maid of honor and they also carried white for muffs. Miss Wanda Gall Anderson was the flower girl. She wore a gown Identical to the bridesmaids and carried a basket of rose petals. Christopher Lynn Anderson was ring bearer. Mr. Alfred Craig Vaughan, father of the groom, served as best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Joe Paul Vaughan, brother of the groom; Mr. Randolph Graham Morris, brother of the bride, Mr. Michael Franklin Obrlenof Victoria, Va., Mr. Charles Douglas Weeks of Sea Girt, N. J., and Mr. Michael Thomas Morris, brother of the bride. MISS MARY ELIZABETH GRISSOM Engagement Announced Mr. and Mrs. David Alton Grissom of Macon announce the engagement of their daughter, Mary Elizabeth, to Mr. James Robert Lilly, Jr., son of Mrs. James R. Lilly, Sr., of Goldsboro and Mr. James R, Lilly, Sr., of Hlnton, West Virginia. The wedding Is planned for December 30 at 3:00o'clock In the Macon Methodist Church. No Invitations are being sent. All relatives and friends are Invited to attend. T Mrs. Richard Lee Kelvin of Radford, Va., sister of the groom, directed the ceremony. The bride Is a graduate of Radford College and has accepted a position as a first grade teacher with the Pulaski County, Va., School Board. The groom Is a student at Virginia Polytechnic Institute in Blacksburg, Va. The couple will make their home In Pulaski, Va. Reception Immediately following the wedding a reception was given by the bride's parents in the fellowship hall of the church. Mrs. Plyna Bagley of Kenbridge, Va., poured punch, Mrs. T. C. Wright of Victoria, Va., served the wedding cake, Miss Vlckl WOkof, cousin of the bride registered the guests in the bride's book. Crutchfields Entertain At Christmas Tea The Rev. and Mrs. Gilbert Crutchfleld and Miss Rhonda Crutchfleld entertained 125 guests, Including church members and neighbors, at a Christmas tea on Sunday afternoon from 3 to 5 p. m. In the Mary Burwell parsonage. The parsonage was decorated In greenery, red candles and other Yuletide appointments. Guests were greeted by Mr. and Mrs. Crutchfleld and were Invited Into the living room by Mrs. W. G. Coleman. Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Banzet Invited the guests into the dining room where refreshments were served from a table bearing a cut-work cloth and a large arrangement of red carnations, white mums and glads, flanked by burning tapers. Russian tea was poured by Mrs. W. R. Woodall. Mrs. J. H. Daniel, assisted by Mrs. Scott Gardner, Mrs. William Sprulll, Mrs. J. G. Ellis and Mrs. W. P. Burwell, served petlts fours, ham biscuits, nuts, cheese dainties and bonbons. Also assisting in serving were Misses Susan Gardner, Cyndy Connell, Pat and Elizabeth Ellington, April Andrews, Meredith Bullock, Catherine Blankenshlp, Patricia Odom, Cathy Renn and Karen Haynes. Guests were registered by Mrs. W. A. Graham, Miss Edith Burwell and Miss Marlam Boyd. Good-byes were said to Mr. and Mrs. Howard Oakley. Local Girl Takes Part In Peace Program RALEIGH — Peace on earth was proclaimed through dance Dec. 10 In the annual Peace College Christmas concert. Modern and (oik dance and ballet were combined In the program presented by the Peace Dance Club In the Hermann Student Center on campus. At least one local young woman performed with the group. The concert, under the direction of Miss Jody Sutlive, Peace dance instructor, opened with "Song of Joy" from Beethoven's Ninth. Margaret Fensel of Wilmington was ballet soloist for "Seascape" and another solo was performed by Pam Adams of Smithfleld. The troupe danced before several large black backdrops, under special lighting effects. Among the performers was Jane Cornell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hal W. Connell of Macon Road, Warrenton, and a I960 graduate of John Graham High School where she was homecoming queen, an outstanding senior, a member of the annual staff. Monogram Club president and F.H.A. president. She is a Peace sophomore. Dr. Charles Bunch Is Kentucky Colonel Dr. Charles Bunch, surgeon and chief o< staff at Warren General Hospital, has been commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by Governor Loots B. Nunn, Governor of Kentucky, it was learned here this week. Governor Nunn, under date of Dee. 9, wrote Dr. Bunch as fDllOWS! "* Is ay distinct privilege to commission you a Ksotucky Colonel. Bright with Mrs. William King and Mrs. W. R. Hedgepeth as co-hostesses. The home was beautifully decorated In a Yuletide theme. Mra. J. C. League of Henderson presented an Interesting program on "Basics of Flower Arranging and Christmas Arrangements." She showed several beautiful arrangements. Mrs. Robert Fleming, program chairman, read a delightful poem, "Gardener's Visit From St. Nicholas." Mrs. Julius Banzet, in, president, presided at the business meeting. The Mini - Garden Committee reported that dirt has been delivered to the garden site and work will soon proceed on the garden. The committee which was appointed to work on landscaping at the Lions Den reported that a member of the landscaping committee from State University In Raleigh Is drawing plans which will be presented to the committee for approval. There are twelve (12) students representing five (3) curriculum areas earning an academic average that placed them on the Dean's List. In order tor a student to qualify tor this list, he must earn a grade point average of 3.5 for the quarter. This average Indicates superior work on the part of the student.
